To find out how to get clear skin, you must do me one big favor. You have to stop listening to all of the myths and lies that surround acne and start applying some real truths. A few of the lies and myths include connections between diet and acne, why do we need to keep buying products every month instead of finding a permanent solution and the most annoying off all; washing your face to stop breakouts.
Why don't we start off with the diet and acne connection? I'm sure you've heard or read somewhere that experts always claim that it has been proven that there really is no connection between diet and acne. They may even cite studies and their conclusions. What they fail to mention, either through ignorance or by omission, is that any study done in America was the very opposite of conclusive. The latest study done in America was conducted in 1970 and lasted one whole week. Ponder over that for just a second. How far has science and medicine come in just the past few years that no one bothers to question a study conducted nearly 4 decades ago!? Medical advances aside, a study can hardly begin to study the smallest scope of acne if it only lasts 7 days.
Also what they fail to mention is that there have been many studies on cultures outside of our own, such as the Ache, Kitavan and Inuit. All of their diets consisted of completely natural foods that they grew or captured themselves. How many recorded cases of acne did they have? Not one. What makes this study even more amazing is that the Inuits switched to more western style foods and were studied doing so from 1989 to 1991. Do you want to know what happened?
Acne. They started getting acne when they didn't have it before. Obviously diet plays some role and is a major factor in how to get clear skin.
What about washing your face? I just want to scream every time someone mentions this. Your hygiene plays no role in your breakouts. Anyone who doesn't get breakouts could walk around for days without getting a single pimple. There just isn't any connection.
Some people might say something like "Well, I'm not saying dirt is causing acne, but if you want to be clear, you have to wash the excess oil from your skin." The so called "T-Zone" has to be washed so excess oil doesn't clog pores. This is one of those more common how to get clear skin myths. Even if you could wash your face a million times a day, you'd still have acne because your oil glands are constantly producing more oil every second of the day. Besides, washing obviously only takes away the natural oils on the surface of the skin, which only causes you to breakout more.
Finally there is the biggest how to get clear skin myth of them all. The chemicals. There is a great metaphor I want to use here to explain why there are so many companies that make external products to "clear" acne. Imagine you have a large pool of free standing and dirty water in your back yard. Every summer your back yard becomes infested with swarms of mosquitoes who love the dank and free standing water.
One way to get rid of them is to spray chemicals in the backyard to kill them. This method works great; all of the mosquitoes die....but then they come back in a year. Your other alternative is to simply drain the pool and get rid of the problem forever. In the same manner, that is why drug companies make all of the "wonderful" products that simply deal with the symptoms of acne. They want us to need to come back to them. If they sold cures, they'd only have you as a customer once. Why do you think all of their products are promoted by pretty people? We see their great skin and think they got it by using their product.
The truth of the matter is that acne is an internal problem. How to get clear skin has nothing to do with how much you wash or how many new products you try. None of them will work because you're only treating the symptoms and not the real causes.
How to get clear skin is not a big secret. You just need to treat the real problem
